ZAIN explores resonance as a state of 'Mutual Becoming' — where sensation, place, and the Other form a 'Field' of transformation. Her work spans painting and performance, unfolding through vibrational responses to specific sites: from her childhood in a ceramicist’s mud house in rural Korea, to the hybrid energy of Gwanghwamun, the glacial cliffs of Sweden’s High Coast, and upcoming explorations in Taipei and the deserts of Utah.

Her approach, which she terms 'Field Vibration Painting', emerges through embodied attunement — not through control, but through resonance. This aligns with the Daoist principle of 무위이화 (無爲而化): “transformation by non-force.”

Her practice invites viewers into ecologies of sensation — spaces where rhythm, breath, and presence circulate beyond the visible, always returning, always becoming.

자인은 감각과 장소, 타자가 서로 공명하며 변화하는 ‘공동의 존재화(Mutual Becoming)’의 장(Field)을 탐구합니다. 그녀의 작업은 회화와 퍼포먼스를 넘나들며, 한국 시골의 흙집에서의 도예적 리듬, 광화문의 혼성적 에너지, 스웨덴 하이코스트의 빙하 절벽, 그리고 타이베이와 유타 사막에서의 향후 탐구에 이르기까지 특정 장소의 진동에 반응하여 펼쳐집니다.

그녀는 이를 ‘필드 바이브레이션 페인팅’이라 명명하며, 억지로 조형하기보다 감응을 통해 형상을 드러내는 방식입니다. 이 실천은 도가의 무위이화(無爲而化) — ‘억지 없이 조화를 이룸’이라는 사유와 맞닿아 있습니다.

그녀의 작업은 리듬과 숨, 존재가 눈에 보이는 것을 넘어 순환하는 감각의 생태계를 열어줍니다 — 늘 되돌아오고, 끊임없이 되어가며.
